Art made from wool

The task for Ahda was to open up smaller rooms and create a large, bright space for celebrations and commemorations in the building next to the main church room. The wooden structure, windows and walls of the original architecture are strong visual elements that the architect wanted to highlight in the new interior.

Sound attenuation

To improve the acoustics in the room, the original walls are covered with wool felt from Flokk & Fjell. The design consists of a specially designed wool artwork that references the biblical creation story. Each artwork tells a part of the story, from when the earth was empty and dark to all life on the seventh day.

Abstract

Everything we know and understand has a beginning and an end. The details vary in each individual's life, celebration or memorial. The viewer of the artwork is allowed and invited to experience the artwork in their own way.

Details

Details that reveal pure nature. Each wool thread, a living testament to the earth's vibrant tapestry, is intertwined with colors from plants and reflects the rhythms of the seasons.
