Room dividers
These specially designed room dividers are the result of a collaboration between BW H Ontwerpers and Roem Ontwerp. The wool felt on the back of the room dividers improves the acoustics in the room, while the shelves on the other side provide extra storage capacity. The wool felt is mounted in aluminum frames and not only contributes to better acoustics, but also acts as a moisture absorber. In addition, wool is dirt-repellent, easy to clean and flame-retardant, making it a versatile and practical material for these unique room dividers.
Handmade
The wool felt is hand-felted from a blend of merino wool and silk, dyed with rock lichen. Rock lichen is a type of lichen that grows on rocks. "Rock lichen has a historical significance in Norway and other Nordic regions as a traditional plant dye.
Other lichen species were also used for dyeing. The colors obtained from lichens ranged from earthy brown and yellow to green, and the specific hues depended on the type of lichen used and the dyeing process employed.
